Croom the disciplinarian. I got money on how this one turns out. The football players that jumped the off-duty cop a couple of seasons ago and how that was handled told me pretty much everthing I need to know about how this situation is gonna end.

All I'm saying is let's see what happens when it's all said and done. Anything can still happen and if Croom can find a way to get these guys back in he will.
Again, talking about the incident I referenced, he reinstated a group of players, who by reported accounts, was trying to initiate a fight between females like it was a cock fight or something. An off-duty police officer steps in to put a stop to it and the group decides to jump him instead.
After it was all said and done, the players were back on the team and it was like nothing ever happened. Croom's not an idiot and those players didn't get what they deserved. Kinda like how Ryan Perriloux didn't get what he deserved the first 3 or 4 or 15 times he broke the law or had a scrape with it. I guess we all play under a different set of rules based on what station we're in currently.
I'll just reserve judgement for a while is all I'm saying.

I believe you can only travel with 70 players. I don't know if home games are unlimited or limited to 105.

With respects to Croom, I'm glad he did not become head coach at Alabama. I appreciate what he has done in his playing days and I'm sure there are other things he has done that have gone unnoticed but,
I think it would have ended in a very, very bad way.
It's also a good thing we went away from anyone in -house to rebuild. A fresh start was what the program needed.
I bet we'll see two of those players back on the team with Croom.

Croom would have done FAR better than Shula even thought about... ie: beating Shula's Bama players 2yrs straight with 2 and 3 stars

Yeah in hindsight I think Croom would have done a better job here. I know that when they were looking to fill the vacancy I was pretty much on the fence regarding both of these guys. I only preferred Shula because I felt like there was more potential upside there in the long run. He's a little younger and with his father being a coach I felt like at the time it would be an advantage and Shula could have developed into a very good head coach given time. But it didn't pan out.

I don't think he would have done a bad job, just glad we went out of the family so to speak.
I wasn't happy with the Shula hire either.
I also think letting Shula go would have been easier than letting Croom go.

| I believe Croom is a class act. He learned from the best you know. But if we had gotten him we wouldn't have the man we have now. The recruiting we have now. I wish him the best except when he plays the Tide.
