Saban has been saying publicly that he wants to schedule ND. It will be interesting to see if a game, or series, develops in the near future.

Notre Dame has no conference, so that is a team that would be easier to schedule. Unless they want to keep playing soft big east and pac-10 teams.

Let's not forget the perennial match up with Navy.
I wish the NCAA would make them get into a conference by denying Independent schools a BCS berth.

Alabama is stronger than ND. If ND begins to rise this season in power then they may accept. I am guessing.

ND has always been difficult to work with. With their reputation, and name, they pretty much pick who they want to play for what ever alternative reason. More of who gets to play them. Remember when ND was hot and on top, they played the hot teams (outside of the usual games with the academies and USC, Mich) like Miami in the 80s, FSU in the early 90s. But they did play UT a few years back. So you never knopw. Whatever mood they are in. I'd take them in neutral sites. If that Indy deal came along, I'd be all over it. I have a place to stay there and I love road games. Don't know what kind of recruiting advantage you get from Indy, but whatever.
And all the negative comments on that board, the majority are UGAs (the AJC is UGA slanted) who are updet that Alabama keeps getting metioned on playing and planting a steak in ATL, their most fertal recruiting grounds.

It would also give Bama a chance toward evening the "series" record. Isn't ND one of the few schools with a winning record over Bama (with multiple games, at least)?
It would be an intriguing game. Growing up in a household where both parents and my older sister were all Alabama fans I've been immersed in this stuff for so long--I've always wanted to see that game.

Notre Dame is dangerous. I have a copy of the 1973 Sugar Bowl (a game Paul Bryant invited Ara Parsegian over the telephone to play) ND had 126 total yards to Alabama's 0 total yards after the first quarter! I'm not bashing BEAR I am just saying.

1973? No one that would play in this game was even born then. What have OUR kids seen in their football conscience years from ND that would make them remotely fearful of ND? Nothing.

There are probably some Domers who remember this and get very scared.
